I am a human resources professional with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in career coaching, full cycle recruitment of clinical staff, networking, interviewing skills, career advancement techniques, resume and cover letter writing. I have 20+ years in the field and I have worked in various industries. I received my Master’s degree in Education in 1992 from Cambridge College. I started my human resources career as a Personnel Services Administrator at Digital Equipment Corporation at a manufacturing plant in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Once the facility closed, I moved to Digital’s corporate offices in Maynard, MA where I worked as an HR Representative until January of 1997. Given my continued desire and motivation to help and work with people, I took on a role as a Recruiter at the Cambridge Health Alliance where I hired nurses, allied health professionals and administrative staff. This was the start of my career in the healthcare industry. I really enjoyed matching the right people to the right jobs!
In the summer of 2000, I went to work for Partners Healthcare at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. At BWH, I worked as a Senior Nurse Recruiter where I provided full cycle recruitment support to the nursing department hiring nurses, nurse practitioners, certified nursing assistants, nurse managers, unit coordinators and summer students to name a few. I left BWH and worked at Tufts Medical Center for a few years but returned in the winter of 2009.
Shortly after returning to BWH, I was the Lead Staffing Consultant for the Nurse Recruitment Team and not only did I lead my team and continue to hire staff, I also had the opportunity to work with multiple nursing students where I provided career coaching, mentorship and overall encouragement and support. I worked closely with the UMass Boston Clinical Leadership Collaborative for Diversity in Nursing Program where I played an instrumental role in placing these students into positions at the hospital once they graduated and took the Nyclex exam. I have been engaged in working with both new graduate and experienced nurses but also have coached individuals and groups from allied health, administrative and nursing support backgrounds.
I have a passion for teaching young professionals how to reach their career goals, however during my time recruiting, I discovered that I wanted to do more than fill jobs but to devote my entire time helping people reinvent themselves, market their skills, and find a job that they could look forward to going to everyday whether they were just starting out or looking to do something new. We all owe it to ourselves to love our jobs and to be in an environment that contributes to our success.
I am a woman of faith and believe that everyone has a purpose in life! I love people and want to make a difference in the lives of those who aspire to do great things.
Let’s do great things together! Open the door to your success....
